What helped you prepare for a first rheumatology appointment?

I am posting on behalf of AskDocDoc. I would like to ask what information was useful when choosing a rheumatologist and preparing for the first appointment. I have the AskDocDoc doctors page in mind, but a page of doctors cannot tell someone which specialist is right for their situation. That needs a discussion with their treating doctor. Would you look for details about the doctor’s experience with your condition before booking? And for the appointment itself, what would you want a checklist to mention about bringing previous blood test reports? I am asking about practical information, without asking anyone to share results or other personal medical details here.
